You may remember my excitement when this Ohio girl found a Yankee Girl crate at a local flea market in Atlanta! I quickly purchased the crate and revived it using hemp oil. It’s good for a girl to remember her roots! After twenty-one years of living in the South and a gazillion y’alls coming out of my mouth, I still love things that remind me of home!
It looked great on my fireplace this fall, but now it is updated for this holiday season!
I love using natural elements when it comes to my mantle and yes, I do purchase a live Christmas tree each year! I did add a couple faux poinsettias and a small tree since I had them on hand. Holiday decorating doesn’t need to be expensive. Sometimes it is using items around the house in new ways. In fact, the only thing I purchased for my mantle was a garland from Home Depot. Creating this vignette was simple.
Supplies Used:
- Leftover garland from my mantle. (I never bring my garland to the floor due to my sweet doggies so, I always have pieces leftover).
- Evergreen branches (from the free bin at Home Depot)
- Assorted pinecones (from a previous year’s Della Robbia Wreath)
- Burlap Ribbon
- Faux poinsettia
First, I draped the garland around the edges of the box.
Then, I added some of the assorted pinecones and seeds. I tucked the poinsettia in one corner and the small tree in the other corner.
The tree was embellished with pinecones and a cute, burlap bow.
The crates’ natural look celebrates the holiday season! The mantle and hearth are nearly complete. I am waiting on the arrival of the crowning touch, the Della Robbia Wreath. Here are some sneak peeks of the mantle and the natural look I achieved.
This coal shovel gets the holiday look with evergreen, pinecones, a poinsettia and a bow made out of the ever popular upholstery webbing. Yes, this is the same webbing I use to make seats when upholstering! It looks very festive during the holiday season!
There is lots of evergreen, boxwood topiaries with moss bows, and magnolia leaves from my front yard.
You’ll have to wait for the rest of the reveal! Let me just say, I love the look of the fireplace and the evergreen scent it emits!
